My Story

My interest in counselling has always been driven by one question: why do we suffer, and what helps us truly heal? Over the years, this curiosity has shaped both my professional practice and my personal journey, leading me to explore not only psychology and psychotherapy, but also mindfulness, meditation, and the connection between our emotional, physical, and inner worlds.

Working across private practice, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and community services has given me the opportunity to support people from many different backgrounds and stages of life. I’ve worked with adults, young people, families, corporate professionals, frontline workers, and individuals navigating significant life changes. While every person’s story is unique, one thing remains consistent beneath the stress, anxiety, or emotional pain is often a person longing to feel understood, accepted, and more connected to themselves.

I don’t believe counselling is about “fixing” people. Instead, I see it as creating the space to pause, reflect, and gently untangle the experiences, beliefs, and patterns that may no longer be serving you. When we begin to understand ourselves with curiosity rather than criticism, meaningful change naturally follows.

My style is conversational, genuine, and deeply collaborative. There is no pressure to have everything figured out before you arrive. Sessions move at a pace that feels right for you, allowing room to explore what is happening beneath the surface while making sense of the challenges you are facing in everyday life. Sometimes that means working through a specific issue; other times it means discovering parts of yourself that have been overlooked for years.

Much of my work centres around identity, self-awareness, and emotional resilience. I am passionate about helping people move beyond simply coping with life toward feeling more present, authentic, and aligned with who they truly are. I believe that greater self-understanding not only changes how we relate to ourselves but also transforms our relationships, careers, and the choices we make every day.

Outside of formal training, my own experiences including travelling and spending time in Nepal and India deepened my appreciation for the importance of slowing down, being present, and recognising the relationship between mind, body, and emotional wellbeing. Those experiences continue to influence how I work today, blending psychological insight with a broader understanding of what it means to live well.

For me, counselling is a privilege. Every conversation is an opportunity to witness courage, vulnerability, and growth. There is something incredibly powerful about seeing someone rediscover hope, trust themselves again, and realise they are capable of creating a life that feels more fulfilling and true to who they are. That transformation is what continues to inspire my work every day.
